Having had dogs since childhood, I began competing in dog obedience & agility in the mid-nineties with our first Bearded Collie boy Buffy.

I also served on the committee of The Working Trials of Ireland for a number of years. (Sincere thanks to Mrs. Marie Bailey for giving me the opportunity to work alongside her on the committee)

Progressed into competitive dog showing with our first Bearded Collie girl, Champion Ali (Ch. Cunnamara Rosie AnCh’98) , who gained her championship title at just 18 months of age and gained her Annual Championship title in 1998.

Next came our Champion boy, Coby, (Ch. Potterdale Patrick) who took Best in Show in Bray & District Championship Show in 2003 and won multiple group placings at Championship shows during his show career.

Out of our first litter came Jessy, (Ch. Moylestar Jackie O’ at Coppertint) who gained her championship title along with qualifying for Irish show dog of the Year.

Throughout my time in competitive dog showing I served on the committee of The Combined Canine Club and am very grateful for the guidance and training of Mr. & Mrs. John and Joan Walsh.

I very briefly tried out judging dogs at just three open shows but, as I felt like I wanted to give every dog the 1st prize, I learned very quickly judging dogs is not for me!

I’ve also served on the committee of The Bearded Collie Club of Ireland from 2000 – present. With special thanks to Mrs. Helen Hegarty for her friendship, experience and so many good times together over the last 20+ years as we’ve shared our love for our bouncing Beardies.
